"Eh, yes," Charon seemed to fumble over his words as if talking to the centaur required effort.  "I am … nowhere … ah, going nowhere, that is.  Just over there to, um, relieve myself." He never met Elswarth's gaze for more than an instant.  Charon always had a hard time speaking with the living but was usually able to suppress his discomfort.  Something about these centaurs made him extra uneasy.

Charon froze in his tracks.  He looked to the giant horse-man as a sudden realization came to him.  "It is acceptable to do that here, yes?" Charon asked reluctantly.  "This is not a … a holy place for you, is it?"

Charon seldom dreamed, but when he did he embraced them.  Unfortunately he could only recall scraps of this morning's dream.  He was at work in the morgue, of that he was certain.  However, rather than working on a corpse it was he who was being worked on.  The experience itself was not entirely unpleasant.  It was the technique being used that distracted him, aggressive and unprofessional.  Charon could not be sure, as his memory of the event was slipping away, but he thought it might have been one or both of the gargun he had been forced to work with earlier that was performing his embalming.

As Charon sat up he turned to check the ground beneath where he had been sleeping.  As expected, the grass and other nearby plant life had yellowed and wilted slightly.  He hoped his companions would not notice but suspected something like that was unlikely to go unnoticed with Eswarth.  Charon quickly gathered his things and moved away from the faded greenery nearly fumbling Collinsworth in his haste.  "Sorry, friend. Perhaps I should attach a strap?  No, it would be a nice one.  Fine leather.  Maybe a nice green to go with your eyes … or the eyes you once had."

“Melzak!”  Faznar jumped to his feet in anger.  “Do you have any idea how many times I’ve been mistaken for that … that … spriggan fellator?”  Faznar angrily kicked at the dirt.  “Got me run out of a fair number of places and nearly got me killed here.  That Master guy is not a fan of Melzak.  Pretty sure he was working for the Master and messed up really, really bad.” Faznar gave Zurn a smirk.  “I don’t think either of us will have to worry about Melzak for long.”

Faznar huffed and looked a bit embarrassed.  “Um, sorry about the language.”

“Oh, I’ve always got some place to be going” replied Faznar, “and usually in haste and under pursuit!”  Faznar laughed at himself.  “Yeah, I think traveling with you folk is the best of my rather limited options.  If you’ll have me, that is.  Many folk won’t.  Or won’t for long.”  He turned to Belwar and flashed a meek smile.  “I’ve found my sense of humor clashes with that of most dwarves.  Well, honestly, with all dwarves that I have ever encountered … eventually.”  He sighed a sad little sigh before continuing, “I am, however, an absolute riot amongst other gnomes and also children of most every race!”  Faznar’s eyes absolutely twinkled with joy when he spoke of children, an effect that Zurn thought must have been magically enhanced.

“I have other talents, too. Aside from the obvious magical talents, that is. I happen to be an excellent cook. Also, I am a master at the gnomish squeezebox!”  Faznar moved his empty hands back and forth while wiggling his fingers.  The not-so-subtle sound of gnomish polka music drifted softly through the air as his hands imitated the motions of playing the unusual instrument.  “It’s been a while since I have actually played, though.  My squeezeboxes tend to get smashed to bits.”

“Hmm,” thought Faznar aloud.  “My folks moved around a lot when I was growing up.  I still keep moving around a lot now that they are gone.  Can’t really say I am from any one place… or headed to any place for that matter.”  Faznar’s attention was still focussed on his illusion.  A frying pan appeared under the Urguth-pike. “Ah! No!,” it cried as flames burst to life under the pan and the fish started to sizzle.  “Must. Save. Myself.” The Urguth-pike flopped about, flipped through the air, and landed right in the fire.  “Ahhhh!  Damn it," the dwarf-fish screamed.  "This is an even worse situation than I was previously in!”  Faznar snickered and ended the illusion in a puff of smoke that smelled of fish soup. “Crap, now I could really go for a nice hot bowl of fish chowder!”

Faznar wiggled a finger and concentrated for half a beat.  A fish appeared floating above Belwar.  In place of the fish's head was the face of Urgath, beard and all.  The Urgath-pike began to float in a circle around Belwar's head.  It started to sing, "Rubies are red, Sapphires are blue.  I smell like a fish, Belwar's mom does, too."

Faznar shrugged his shoulders. “How do I get anywhere? Seriously, I can’t remember the last time I actually TRIED to get anywhere.” Faznar scrunched his face up in thought. “Hmm, well it was this ass, Urguth, who brought me here. I was, um … extracting myself from a situation in this dwarven town. This guy, the one guy in the place who seemed to have a sense of humor, showed me a secret way out of the town. I was pretty happy about the situation until he and his men started meeting up with gargan.” Faznar throws his hands up in the air. “Oh, they were trying to be all sly about it. Like I’m going to believe that they just happen to stumble on supplies every time we get close to gargan encampments. Obviously they were working with them. Anyway, after about an eternity of traveling through underground passages, they stuff a bag on my head and lead me out into this valley.” Faznar waves his hands about enthusiastically. “And it’s full of gargan! Gargan everywhere! You know who can’t take a joke? Dwarves. Dwarves can not take a joke. But gargan are even worse! You want to hear a good gargan joke?” Faznar didn’t wait for Zurn to answer. “Yeah, me too, but there aren’t any!”

Faznar composed himself. “Anyway, this Urguth guy turns out to be buddies with the guy in charge of this whole thing. They end up taking all the gargan soldiers back into the secret tunnels and here’s the funny part… Urguth says that The Master is leaving me in charge! So I go ordering these gargan around and guess what happens!” Again, Faznar does not wait for Zurn to answer. “Well, it turns out nobody told these gargan that I was left in charge. That prick Urguth pranked me! Can you believe it? What am I supposed to think about the guy now? First he helps me out of a pinch. Then he hangs with gargan. Then he pulls a great prank. I really want to hate the guy, but, I don’t know. He might be fun to hang around with.”

"Well, if we are to compare numbers then I am sure that you have me beat," replied Xavier with a smile. "But you know how these people are, Jena. A couple of unbelievably attractive people like us, we are going to attract attention no matter where we go. People are going to want to be with us. Even if we deny them, they are still going to tell everyone that we let them have their way with us." Xavier gestured to the seat above him. "Isn't that right, Amy?"

"Behave in close quarters? Well, good thing we have Jena here," remarked Xavier. "She knows how to behave in close quarters. At least that is what I hear. I have not had the pleasure." Xavier glances over at Jena, "Not yet!"

Like the other boys, Xavier stood and stripped his shirt off to reveal his well muscled form. Xavier looked to Jena. “Mmm, is it me or did it just get hotter in here?” He ever so subtly flexed his abs in front of Jena’s face and pat them down with his shirt. “Oh, I’m sorry. You look distracted. Are you distracted by all this heat?”

Xavier had no intention of actually seducing Jena. He knew she was trying to set him up to be arrested. However, Xavier did want to see how far she would take this. He might not be able to actually have her, but he’d like to see how far he could get her to go.

(OOG: Just a minor adjustment to the previous post. Xavier would NEVER actually kiss Jena or make any unnecessary physical contact with her (or anyone) in such a public area. Further, since he has convinced himself that Jena is a "Government Agent" out to get him, he would not indulge himself of her goodies. Although, he is looking forward to her attempt at seducing him.)

"I know they're watching me, babe," Xavier whispered back. "Everybody's watching me." Xavier winked at her. "Now get your damn hand off my face before you get me arrested."

Xavier is not the brightest of men. He has come to accept this fact. Hell, he has come to revel in it. However, even he could figure Jena’s game. How could someone be such a blatant slut, attract the attention of the government to the point at which she was taken away for a time, and still be allowed to walk free? 'Government agent,' thought Xavier! 'Jena Mistone is a government agent sent out to entrap boys that the government wants to employ fighting thul.'

'It just makes sense,' thought Xavier to himself. 'The government must have become aware of my combat skills and now they want me .. no, need me to fight for them.' Xavier was distracted for a moment by Jena’s leg rubbing against his as she tried to get comfortable in the cramped quarters. He looked to her and smiled. She shared a sly smile with him. Xavier noticed that Jena had already started to glisten from the heat of the stove. A single drop began to form between her breasts. 'Oh, I would love to stick my face right between those and …,' he thought. Xavier leaned in a bit closer to Jena. 'No! No, no, no, no!,' Xavier caught himself. 'Government agent! Government agent. Hot, sexy, government agent. Must not touch!' Xavier sighed and looked around the caravan. He needed something to distract him from Jena.

Xavier’s gaze wandered upward. He caught a good look at Amy just as she readjusted herself. Xavier sighed, 'This is going to be a long matin’ trip!'

"You tell me," replied Xavier with a shrug. "Did it seem like I was actually interested in practicing a few scenes with you?"

Xavier turned away from Jena and started to climb into the wagon.

(OOG: I wasn't expecting a 19 to beat her Bluff. I was just surprised that the roll was high enough to have that possibility. Not that it would much matter with Xavier. He'd be just as likely to talk himself out of believing she was bluffing if he though he could get a piece.)

"Can't say I've seen the outfit," replied Xavier. He took a step to the side and looked her up and down. "But if you've got it handy I would appreciate a private viewing. Maybe I could help you practice a few scenes later?"

(OOG: Yeah, I don't know if this is gonna be 4E or 3.5E. Either way Xavier is NOT terribly insightful. He's all physical stats. Int, Wis, and Chr are all "dump stats" for him (I know, he seems like such a charming intellectual). So I'm just gonna roll this here 20-sided and call it even.

Oh shit! It's a 19! Let's just assume that the guy in line in front of him pointed something out.)
