Title: Coordination of the WarGames Thread
Post by: Dray on November 25, 2011, 08:54:24 AM
Alright, here is the situation:

FIRST: Read the recent posts (at least the last three I made) from “2133.01.02 – Game Session 4A – WarGames”, that will give you a better idea why I am listing everything below;

So what I see is that Temmit would ordinarily have to return to the hall / festivities, and as long as he does NOT return, no other male student will be allowed to go in. >:) hehe.

But will he be able to move from there towards the barn undetected? Or will he have to re-enter the festivities and then try to find a way to get out again?

Also, if I’m not mistaken, Leslie appears to already have been converted to 4e; I’m not really conversant with Temmit’s 4e abilities, and I’m quite certain that no one else is conversant with their characters’ 4e abilities. What to do, what to do...

Thoughts? Is the Psi Crystal 4e done? In 3.5 Temmit burned two feats on the Psi Crystal (for the improved one, no less). That’ll change his 4e build, since he’ll have to jettison two feats (or at least one).

I am thinking that perhaps for the moment we will stay with 3.5e until we are ready to make a seamless move. Especially considering Wildfire’s current lack of experience with the system, it wouldn’t be fair to him. So keep playing Temmit as his 3.5e enjoyable self.

That being said, Leslie’s invisibility doesn’t necessarily have to be a result of 4e transformation, but of something else she has attained (potion, ring, or cloak).

In regards to Temmit’s predicament:
he doesn’t know what is happening and would most likely be anxious to return to Marcus watching in the Hall.
*if Shannon is able to get outside before Temmit comes inside then he will indeed be free to go around the Hall and to the barn. He would expect a search party to leave the Hall and find him if he didn’t come back in though.
*Temmit didn’t notice that anyone was stationed outside.

Funny you should mention being anxious to get back to watch Marcus. It occurred to me as I was busy waking up this morning, that in the outhouse Temmit’s got the best seat there is for that. You may recall that he’s got a nifty new power to see far-away places that he’s already been to. I was thinking that he would no doubt use that power to see inside the feast hall and observe Marcus’ movements.

Temmit might already be aware that things are unravelling, and could move to intercept / assist.

Eh, what?

I just read your text above, you have a very good point. It would make sense that since you were watching him like a hawk, you wouldn’t stop to do so just for a toilet break. That being said, Shannon won’t know that you are currently watching Marcus from the toilet, so she will still be eager to go warn you of his exit.

yup. But I've got my thoughts...lemme dwell on it a bit, though I'll probably post before I know what I'm going to do. :)

I've read the suggested post but I need to reread it when it's a bit more quiet to absorb it all. So, I'll be with you shortly. And thanks for keeping it in 3.5.

I'm trying to catch up on... really quite a lot here... My problem is that there's a LOT, and I'm rather distracted at home, even when the kids are in bed.

What would be helpful is if someone who IS up to date and I could get together, either in person or on the phone, and discuss what's happened in sort of an abridged manner. I LOVE all the flavor text, but I just need to know what's happened in a need-to-know fashion before pressing on with most of this campaign... Right now, I don't know what I don't know, but I know that what I don't know is a lot.

I'm open for you; when's a good time?

Johan and Griznuq, tell me what day and what time you plan on getting together. I will sit in if the time slot allows.

Johan, I gave you my version of Temmit's player notes. Griznuq, did I have you Harrison's?

Like Dray, if I could join in on that as well it will at least solidify things for me as well. It'll also be fun to hang with you blokes for a bit.

That is if time allows and you don't mind me being there. We may also be able to firm up things in other campaigns as well.

I actually have tonight open, and can be pretty much anywhere. Tricia tells me that she's going out tonight, so I am free with my own time.

Any takers? :) Sit around and talk D&D?

It's really sad how excited that notion gets me. *sigh*

Dray, are we aware that Leslie is attending the games? From past posts I got the impression that it was for a certain age (although younger kids were driving the mechano-spiders) to test their fighting ability and that Leslie was not old enough yet.

Also, do we know of any previous aggressive tensions between Marcus and River or is this a new development?

Does Shannon recognize Judge Criss as being here be it his size, armor, etc?

Dray, you can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that we were aware of the younger kids' participation.

As for tensions with Marcus, Shannon would know from Temmit that Marcus is a dangerous person, and he seems to be working for Fresenius in looking for gifted kids. We can discuss this at length, if you'd like, but you might get a kick out of reading the threads yourself.

Temmit and Renee (and probably Emma) would have shared their beliefs and their evidence with pretty much everyone.

He's our own person Draco Malfoy.

Looks like I have some reading to do...

The description in the NPC section labels Marcus as being a company man...I just wasn't sure if there was any volatile history.

No "volatile" history, but if you read "Spar by the bonfire", you'll get an idea of what he's all about. That's a short thread and you'll get a good idear.

In 01.02.2133 - Temmit Wakes To The Game (http://griznuq.com/index.php?topic=10286.20) thread (page 3, the post by Johan, 4 posts down)we are introduced to the idea that young children are being brought to the games for some reason.

In the Game Session 4A - War Games (http://griznuq.com/index.php?topic=10371) thread (page 2, my last post), it is quickly covered that the children drove the machines, a fact that was played out at the table.

Okay, so is it any surprise that Leslie whispered into Shannons ear? According to the thread, Shannon is not surprised. Given their colorful parting in "Shannon Wakes to the Game" and no mention that we know of Leslie's attendance I would think Shannon would be all, "What the mate are YOU doing here?!"

Did Leslie reveal her presence prior to the Wargames post or during but it is not specified?

Sorry to be beating on this detail here but it's nagging in the back of my head...I just want Shannon to react truly as I contribute to the thread.

Shannon saw Leslie driving the spider machine only a few short hours ago during the Games. So she is aware that Leslie is at least in the area. That being said, Leslie and the other young children were being accommodated by the Outer-Rim Defense post that resides on the opposite side of a hill that was the battlefield today.

Okay, now let me step back a bit and reveal more of the big picture.

Leslie, Shannon, Renee, Emma, Xavier, Lucien, Harrison, Temmit, River, and Kristen have all been very close friends over the past two to five years (pending when each joined the guild). Leslie is known by all in this tight circle as the Guild Spy. Each of you also know, without openly speaking about it, that she is the primary source of Renee's information presented at meetings. And that the little sneak is somehow able to go invisible for extended periods of time.

Now...I picture Leslie and Shannon having a friendship in which they spar, tease, and antagonize each other for fun, in fact an early post intimates as much. Despite Leslie's high IQ, she is a twelve year old "going on eleven".  Therefore, Leslie would take every opportunity to scare Shannon. Shannon is very used to this that she can "sniff out" the little twelve year-old anytime she tries to surprise her when invisible.

As I was about to contribute to the thread another question came to me. Do you wish to keep the story continuing in the "War Games" Game Log or bump it over to an ICD?

Oh, and I get the impression the only way for us to leave the hall is to go to the outhouse, yes?

Let's keep the post in the current thread.

Also, there may be other ways to leave the Hall, but you will have to use your imaginations.
