Title: Jarmok Visits Julius
Post by: Johan on May 17, 2005, 01:37:53 PM
Early May 4 (the day after Jarmok Questions Kit and the morning before Dinner at the Stump)...

Jarmok goes to the council house to find Julius. He will wait inside if it's open and Julius is not there, and will wait in the bushes across the street if it's not open (whether he's there or not).

"Oh! Excuse me I misunderstood. Let me talk with the boys and i'll ask around to see if any of the artists think that they could make a sketch by description. Bravo to you and your idea!"

"rrrrr...can change clothes." Jarmok submitted, then repeated his question: "Can get drawing? From boys? Face?" Jarmok passed his open hand in front of his own face for emphasis.

"To be honest Jarmok, I don't know of anyone named Rawlin. According to the boys he wore a Kazbourne tabard. Based on that I don't imagine he's from around here originally. I hope that you can find him before he infects anyone else. Many travelers will be passing through here especially with Valley Day just over a month away."

"Good. I go now. T'ank you." Jarmok turned to leave, but halted a step or two onward, turning.

"Achh." He said as he turned back to Julius. "Forget. Can be draw image of Raw-lin' - rat-man? Want to look for him. All should know how he looks. Even not-protet'rets."

"the magical disease effected many of the towns and cities. Exactly where has yet to be determined. i know that they were effected in Xuad' Tarn and Sukys. Beyond that very little information has come through. Just after the disease was cured..how i don't know... the winter set in and traveling was over. i hope that my council members will be returning with an explanation of more of this dark mystery".

"Confuse me." Jarmok winces at the effort to express himself and grunts a little in the process.

"Disease is only for Users here? Not other places?"

*ung*

Julius listens closely to Jarmok making sure that he understands what he is trying to say. Speaking just a bit slower Julius says, "Well, hopefully the other council members will return in less than a month. Right now they're on good will trips and are talking with priests in the cities and villages in the City-States to get them to come here. After the magic disease many have an understandable reluctantce. They'll definately be here before The Day of the Valley, rest assurred. The guard captain will be giving me the key to the Fortmount when they leave, which should be in a couple of days."

Jarmok grunts negatively. "Cabin good. Others might. If left alone, will be used by someone, maybe rat-man, maybe worse. Shouldn't be left empty. Also, good for int'r-train, private talk..."

Jarmok trails off, confident that Julius has heard his message.

"Keep watch on it 'till coun-cil. Month away?" Jarmok puts on a disappointed grimmace.

Julius jerks his head with surprise and says, "Hmmm...Well, I never considered that. It is under the care of the Threshold populace. I don't see any reason why it couldn't be used by The Protectorate. I'll have to discuss it with the rest of the council in an open town forum of course. The other council members should be returning within the month from their trips abroad. Are you thinking of taking residence there?"

Jarmok closes the door with exageratted care and enters the room.

"When Vychian guards leave, what happens to fort? Good for Protect'ret use?"

The door opens up and you quietly slide into the room. You see Julius lighting lanterns about the Council House's entry room. He turns around and spasms and says, "Oh! Jarmok, you gave me a start! Whew....Mercer certainly taught you his tricks!" he chuckles. "He used to do that to me for fun." he squeezes the handles on a toll that making sparks and lights another lantern. He slips an ornamented glass cylinder over the wick and flame and continues, "My gratitude to the Protectorate for finding the family. It's most unfortunate that the other family members didn't live. With all of the people passing through here it's important that we be mindful of the dangers in these hills and mountains...especially since the Vychian guards will be leaving in the next few short days. Is there something that I can help you with?"

Jarmok waits in the bushes until the trio of men disperse (anyone I recognize? Larry? Moe?). He tries to catch snippets of their conversation. After they are good and gone, Jarmok emerges from the shrubbery ("NI") and steals across the street and into the council house (knocking if it remains locked).

Walking up to the door Jarmok quietly and as unobtrusively as possible Jarmok turns the latch to open the door. With the slightest nudge he pushes against the door to discover that it holds fast. Peering about he eases himself into the bushes across the way. As the glow of Kossuth brightens over the 'eastern wall' and the streets become busier. Jarmok hears Julius's voice in the distance. He arrives to the Council House talking with three men. As he speaks to the men others arrive asking questions. As all of the people are talking, Julius turns around and unlocks the door. Frustrated Julius turns around and quite loudly says, "All of you! Go get some breakfast and come see me in an hour! Oh, and i'll see each of you ONE at a time." Amidst the protests, Julius shuts the door and the crowd begrudgingly walks away.
