"That would be great, thank you Julius." After a pause and look down another road she said, "well, I am off. Thank you so much for your time Julius. I am sure we will see each other again shortly."

She gave a small curtsy.

Kit turned and walked towards the shop she was having a silk belt made, they must be open by now, she thought.

She now had so much to do today. She needed to go to the leathery to get some pieces of leather for Jarmock's armor. She sure hoped Kyle would be in the back of the shop working. It was only two days ago that she had run from him and his gift, she couldn't bear to face him yet. Then she needed to go to Spinners and get some proper thread for this very tough looking leather. Maybe some of that silver thread he had used on Julius cloak?

She would be better off getting him a new armor piece all together, it was amazing the piece he wore still held together. Thank Paladine she had thought to leave it hidden under the Rosewalk, what would people have thought? Her carrying around that bloody thing. This, of course, reminded her that she needed to go get it out of hiding at the Rosewalk.

Then she had to buy some parchment and ink. She needed to leave the members of the Protecterate some notes, so they would gather at the Stump tomorrow night. That idea now worked two fold, she was glad she thought of it while talking to Jarmock earlier.

She skipped her way along happy with her tasks ahead of her.

Duthash Albyr Arkus [4 May, 237 VY] Kit leaves before breakfast (very early for Kit) and walks over to Julius' house. Knocking on his door, hoping that he is not an early riser and has already stepped out.

Not to break the "In-character discussion" but lets not forget, only Ragnor would have been able to discern where the rat-mind-blasting power came from, as he was standing behind Kit.

As Ragnor has been quiet up to this point, so far so good for Kit.

Okay, sorry for the interruption, U may return to IN-Game format.

"Maybe something in Jarmock's system does indeed makes the rat's explode. In my limited experience with Alchemy, I have heard of such things. Granted, it was never with chemicals from living specimens...."

Kit says then trails off, lost in her thoughts.

Kit puts the bowl and the box of powder down on the table in front of her. She let out a small sob.

"I uh, I am just nervous," she said crying."The families are so counting on us Ashe, and so are these boys. To think of the horror they must have endured, not able to control their own bodies." She cried a little more, then slammed her fist on the table, getting everyone's attention.

"I will not fail them." she said so softly, that only Ashe and Laren could make it out After taking an audible breathe she continued, "Just give me a minute Ashe I will be alright."

Laren and Ashe watched her go perfectly still, Kit had closed her eyes and her breathing was becoming more even, and measured, as if she was meditating in some way.

Without a word, she picked up the powder and returned to her work, her hands perfectly still.

"Now what is you wanted Ashe?" she asked with a far more calm voice.

As does Kit, she steps outside.

After a long moment (OOC, like a year) of the peaceful solitude, Kit turned, gave Laren a slight pat on the shoulder and returned to her work inside.

END OF THREAD

Matt and I discussed it, and thought better of continuing a thread that occured so long ago in the Threshold timeline. Sorry for the inconvenience.

After telling Ashe that she has experience with Alchemy, Kit starts to prepare "a station" to work at. In no time at all she has decanters, mixing bowls and a burning candle set at a table. While Ashe is examining the boys, he starts requesting certain ingredients to be mixed. Laren sees that Kit has a hard time measuring them, as she is shaking like a leaf.

Character Info / Kit's Description and a Little More
April 25, 2005, 09:04:39 PM
Kit is a stunningly beautilful young girl, not yet quite a woman. At 5'6", she is slightly taller than her peers. She has long straight blonde hair that is full, reaching mid-way down her back. With her fair skin and pale green eyes she could easily be mistaken for a tall half-elf. Her physique is certainly characteristic of the elven race, as she is very slim. Although not athletic in build, she has a woman's curves, a shape that will turn many a man's head.

She appears that she also makes no effort to discourage such activity. Her adventuring outfit leaves only a little to the imagination. The armor consists of a long light brown leather skirt, which reaches the top of her feet, and is split at the sides to reveal her legs up to her waist. Along the low-waist line of the skirt is a loose fitting belt pouch and dagger. Her leather top leaves much of her mid-riff bare, and has only three-quarter sleeves. She also carries a full backpack, out of which some torch-heads poke out. She rarely wears it on her back though, saying it pulls on her hair. To complete the ensemble, she (recently) accessorized with matching fingeless leather gloves and leather straps to braid portions of her hair. She has no jewelry.

Over the eight days of knowing her, you have observed she is prone to about one or two mood swings a day. She'll be very happy one moment, then appear to be crushed with sadness the next. She has not shown any anger however, and is always quick to reasonably explain away any tears.

The first two days after the Threshold Protecterate (our group) was formed, Kit all but disappeared. She was glimpsed coming in and out of Threshold shops. The following two days she was lost completely to her room. Only the last 2 days prior to the Rat Extermination Day (see log entry #2) had she be seen by her fellows in the Protecterate. Wearing comfortable breeches and shirts of various colors she had bought. Each item though, had been modified to show off more skin than the original tailors intended, and more than the local women of town appreciate. Luckily for them, and their husbands, she spends a considerable amount of each day in her room, only making appearances in the Inn common room in the morning, and the Stump in the evening.

For those last two nights, Kit has joined anyone in the group who had taken dinner in the Stump. She always appeared freshly bathed and groomed, with a perfume of a light jasmine scent about her. Each night, her hair has been in a different style, as she must spent most of her time in her room fiddling with it. And of course, she always had a different outfit. The night before what was to become Rat Day, she debuted a modest, but beautiful brown dress.

When she does converse with members of the Protectorate, she is usually very inquisitive about the others in the group. Wanting to know what harrowing adventures they've been on, and what amazing things they've seen. As she is more a listener than a talker, she is always an attentive audience.

Her past is a mystery to all, as she always seems to steer away from talking of it.

She is still only known as Kit.

Kit wipes the tears from her eyes. Walking behind the others, as they carried the teenage boys to Ashe's place, she had not expected Laren to turn around.

"Certainly Laren, what is it?" she asked. Trying to smile.
#1649
Kit lets out a small laugh at the clearly intended pun.

"Thank you Laren, and no worries." Kit spoke quietly, as they walked together behind the group. "I am familiar with alchemy, but being around it makes me uncomfortable, sorry to you for being so urgent on leaving. If it wasn't for your idea, these boys may never have been captured alive. Their parents really owe you a debt of gratitude."

Kit looked at Laren, her eyes wet with tears, but a smile on her face.

She turned her gaze back on the boys in the arms of the group. They were all still making there way too Ashe, the roads were completely quiet in the dead of night.

"As far as Ashe's lab goes, I guess I will have to get used to being there. It appears we will needs his skills this night, and most likely many times in the future."

"Oh, no. I am very happy here. I am amazed at my luck at being able to land a job so quickly actually."

Ragnor was starting to have difficulty holding the two boys, and he had to stop and shift the weight of one them. Laren and Kit stopped and waited for him to make adjustments, then continued on behind just out of earshot.

"Until today, you have to admit it was a pretty plush job," she continued.

"I was crying," she paused, looking for the words to say, "because I am happy for the parents. The three families will be re-united. There lives will return to normal, and things will be as they should have been. Before evil interrupted it". Another tear escaped, which Kit quickly wiped away.

Changing the subject she asked, "Have you been in Threshold long?"
