Interesting, Laren thought. He assumed the building in which the Dusksroud went was their HQ. Unfortunately, he didn't really know what he'd do with that information, or whether or not it had anything to do with The Eye, or Crimson, or him, or... Anything, really.

He wished he was better at all this. Yes, he had a solid disguise, but he'd never really hatched a plan for what to do once he was invisible. Ashe would have known exactly what to do now. Jarmok would have had a plan. ...His father would have known exactly what to do. Laren push the cloud of melancholy and guilt aside.

Well, at least now he knew where one of the variables in the grand scheme that was Kurr was.

He'd originally gone back to the Half Pint to make sure his disguise was good enough, and he'd confirmed that. Now it was time to answer some questions.

Laren shambled off, intent on finding out the condition of his home.

Harrison wasn't really sure what to think. He started thinking outloud to see if he could come up with what he was sure Michael already concluded.

"Well, we know where he is now. And we have that key, which he doesn't want the clergy to know about." Harrison shook his head. "I don't think we have a whole lot, to be honest. We could tell him we have the key, but that might not be enough leverage. After all, what does he really care, he's not a boss anymore, and he's not really around either."

"Do you think threatening to give the key over to the clergy would be enough to get him to do what I need? I mean, how would that go... 'Here Fresenius, this is my father's key, we blackmailed a loose-moraled woman for it. Dunno what it goes to, but that bastard won't get me switched to a different house. So. Here.' ...And then he kills me."

"No, I think our search continues," he said with a sigh.

FUCK IT ALL! HAVE THE FUCKING ICD! I will even start it if I have to! Jesus, god!
#64
God Dammit! Read the whole fucking question!!! Dude. OMG. /me shakes you violently!

At some point in time someone walked up to Temmit and said "Hey, fucko, We're whisper, we are interested in you because (Fill in the fucking blank)"

Because said "someone" would have been an NPC, it's up to you what they said. Temmit was there, so he'd know what was said, but Steve doesn't, cause I guess that ICD never happened? Sometime during the ICD, Temmit would have said "WHY ME?!" and they would have said "(Fill in the fucking blank again)

Who was that person?
Where are they now?

Harrison wished he could keep himself from being amazed at how unscrupulous people were. He shook his head and said, "Alright, well thanks. We'll bother you no further. I think I have what I need."

Harrison turned to go.

Time out... I'm bothered. "(which means you will have to actually develop Xavier in 4e)" <-- I call shanannigans. What's up with that?

Just an FYI, I have no intention of switching any current character to any other platform. Like, ever. I'll roll new characters, but I've done a few "conversions" and it's nothing of the sort.

"Actually, I'm curious," Harrison said, though he suspected he already knew the answer. "If you were supposed to give the key to his successor, why are you giving it to us?"

"Aye, I'm thinkin tha may be the case," Belwar said, his head bobbing. "I think that'd be the way to go fer me. It's the one thing I do really well" He said with a grin.

"So ah, how's it work, be there a spell I need cast on me?"

Laren could help but smirk a bit, watching the fear in the Duskshrouds boil over. He stood up and shambled out of the bar behind the upset youth, hoping he'd be able to follow him. He imagined the kid was spooked, and would slow his gait shortly after getting out of eye shot of the establishment.

Luckily it wasn't unusual to see Oscar scurrying along the streets as if he had somewhere important to be. Just then, and odd thought occured to Laren. Wouldn't it be funny if Oscar was really a disguise in the first place? Perhaps he really did have somewhere important to be from time to time? Perhaps there was a reason that Laren's disguise of choice was such a brilliant one?

Yet another thought born out of the moment that Laren filed away for another day.

He chewed the food he'd shoved into his mouth just before leaving, and followed the youth, keeping a safe distance.

Belwar's irritation with riddles was beginning to show on his face. "Ach, never a straight answer from you holy folk! The gods are so powarful, an so smart, but they can't just come down an say 'Oi! Belwar! Smite some Ogres fer me, thanks laddie!' An ye wonder why I picked me ax an shield instead o' the cloth!"

Belwar shook his head. "Wull, I dunno what's what, or what Moradin wants with me, but seems to me, the right thing ta be doin sorta lines up with what everyone says he'd want anyway."

He examined his axe head, and pulled out his sharpening stone. "I'm one ta do what's right, and I guess if that's what Moradin wants, then I'm doin his work. I think it's time I made up fer some lost time. I think I need to do a little more. There'r those who do battle in the names of their Gods, aye?"

Satisfied that the goons got the message, Laren was curious what they'd do. He considered following them when they left, but there'd be no way to do that without being seen.

He had no real reason to wish them ill will, but Laren was tired of having to run and hide, that he was inclined to put a stop to anyone up to no good. He'd have liked nothing more than to follow them home, and ring their necks. Give em all a case of Laren-gitis.

... he chucked to himself at his new word. He'd have to remember that one.

Belwar struggled to wrap his mind around what his friend was saying. He was trying very hard not to dismiss it as cryptic double talk the way he always had.

"So... Iffin I believe he's pushin, then he is... But, if I believe that, and then say, you believed he wasn't, then what??"

Harrison piped up, being somewhat confused...

"I don't understand. You said that Jonah told you to give the key to his clergy successor, but then you said that Jonah asked you to keep the key a secret from the clergy. Which is it?"

Aren't they all.

I has confuse. Why would Johan ask her to pass the key on to his clergy successor, AND ask her to keep it secret from everyone including the clergy? You may need to spell what you're alluding to out to me here.
