Dale slowly looks around the group and takes a deep breath to help relax the tension of the situation.   "Sayer's right.  We need to make a decision.   Whatever we do though, we should do it together.   Our strength comes from working together.   We can not divide.  We will be too weak for both tasks at hand.

"I have some more questions for the councillors." Dale looks specifically to Svenia and asks, "Did you know these priests?   Were they experienced leaders of their churches?   They were wearing armor, expecting battle.  Did they fall easily or were they overwhelmed?   Did the dark priest use his powers on them?  What did this dark priest look like.  Did he have a name?"

"My first encounter with a dragon was fortuitous.  I lost my mount, had the chain torn from my chest, and was pinned to the ground by a claw that pierced my leg.   I would limp for the rest of my life, but I never felt more alive...

(OOC: LoL, it was much funnier the other way Phin, but ok.)

Sayer stood by and listened.  His hands were folded in front of him.

"What is our decision?"

[Edited for clarity.]

The teary eyed Kit, watched in earnest, as the council women talked to one another. Jarmok had stood beside her, where she sat on the ground with her calves and legs folded beneath her. She reached out and held Jarmok's hand. Upon his quick glance down she gave him a half-hearted smile. One meant to be brave through the obvious despair shown on her young face.

It was clear to Jarmok that Kit's mind had been made up. But he was still uncertain of how all this added up.

Svenia cradles her chin and contorts her face in thought and says, "Well, it's hard to say with any founded certainty because...well, unconcious prisoners are easier to handle. Now, we were attacked last...Avalon, wasn't it the early morning of Albyr Aryor...before Kossuth rose?"

Avalon says, "Yes! Yes it was! What's the date today?" She looks about for an answer.

Rainfire adds, "We were in the cell for two days I think." She looks at Svenia and says, "Sorry Svenia. I just want none of this to have happened."

Svenia looks up at Rainfire and responds, "I know Rain...But we have to keep a clear head on our shoulders and not let panic take over."

"How many days travel, and how many days in cell?" Jarmok asked tersely, almost urgently.

Avalon says, "Yes. Aside from what Rainfire and I added that's everything. Oh, during our travels I heard whispering but couldn't understand any of it since the talk was too quiet."

Rainfire speaks up and says, " We were told that there had been sightings of strange riders in the hills east of the road so the priests wore some armor in case we were attacked." Rainfire added a plea, "Can we get back to town now? We have to speak with Julius and tell him of the recent events. We are, after all, on the council."

Svenia sends a death stare at Rainfire and says, "Rainfire! We told them that! Don't you think they know what they're doing? We're facing some tough decisions here and you're not making it any easier! Instead of whining for your comfy bed why don't you help solve the problems as opposed to adding to them!?"

Avalon smirks.

Jarmok listened intently to Svenia talk, and as the others concurred. This was not adding up properly for the lean outlander.

When Svenia finished, Jarmok nodded, but pushed a little forward. "Is bad image." He explained, waving his spidery hand in front of his face. "Travel to Threshold with three [long fingers again] humans priestes *and* Kurian guardses. Night, maybe four [thumb over shoulder] back, attacked, guardses killed, you and priestes taken, blindedfold, bringed here, you [pointing to all three] in prizen, priests left out? Is all remembered?"

Jarmok cocked his head to one side thinking. "Preistes have metal armor? Were here in metal armor?" He asked.

Svenia looked up at the outrider and her head cocked back in surprise at seeing Jarmok. She noticed the bronzewood axe that Jarmok possessed and becam more at ease. She then says "Ah...yes there were three human priests with us. Two women and one man. They were dressed in priestly fashion with armor and robes with holy symbols. We were attacked on the road by some riders on large wolves. During the attack we were knocked out. Later when we woke we were blindfolded until we came to these ruins. The priests were an awful mess as they had been badly beaten. Once we came into the compound we were separated from the priests and the three of us were thrown into the cell and locked up."

Rainfire and Avalon nodded in agreement. Avalon says, "The wolves were an unusual type. They were very large and had horns like a mountain ram. We were attacked at night and we suddenly couldn't see anything at all. We weren't alone though...we were being escorted by Kurrian guards. I could hear the sounds of battle and them getting slaughtered...well, until I was knocked out."

Rainfire says, "We all heard the confusion and just couldn't make any sense of it at all."

"Ung." Jarmok interjected loudly. "Wait. Need more look." He stepped forward timidly, crouching in front of and addressing Svenia, "Missing three [three long fingers held up] priests? Is human? How look like? How many men bringed here you?" He asked the little woman.

Kit shook with emotion. "But I can't leave her here, if she dies Kayle will never forgive me!"

She shot a look towards Laren. "Laren has two more healing potions, and I still have some energy left. We can do this! That thing is already injured, it had to flee from us didn't it? And there can't be that many more cronies after all, they would have surfaced by now right?"

Kit started to look desperate as she made her case from her kneeling position on the ground.

(OOC, Kit is not aware that Laren gave the potions to the councilor.)

As if noticing Kits tears for the first time, Dale looks to the young girl and puts a hand on her shoulder.   "We will lass.   Just not today.  We need everyone together to fight this evil.   You are exhausted and nearly spent.  Lets go back to Threshold and try again tomorrow."
Blackspear

Kit gasped and let out a small cry.

"Paladine keeps testing me." She started to look about the ground as if trying to find something. "Why does he keep testing me?"

She put her hands over face and dropped to her knees, after a moment of muffling her anguish she took one hand away, leaving the other over her mouth.

Svenia asked "How..."

Before she could finish, Kit stated matter of factly. "I have to go down there."

Blackspear

"Sayer, you aren't equipped for battle.  No armor, no training, not even a weapon.   Throwing yourself into battle like that showed more courage than the rest of us combined.   You did well."

Dale takes the 4 money pouches and puts them in his pack.  Looking at Jarmok and Mall, Dale asks "Should we gather up their weapons and armor to destroy them, so that they can't be used again?   They are so far from Xan Thakos that they must be worth a lot to them.   If we had a pack mule we could take the stuff back to Threshold and arm a militia."
