Maal Brengain shows no reaction to Dale's quip as she marches along. She passes by the darkened Council House and heads towards the Rosewalk. She had not expected Julius to be at the Council House this late anyway. Her intention is to look for him at his home.

"Then again, we have come this far already. Though, I didn't realize how late it was. It is some pretty important stuff that went on. Of course there doesn't seem to be any immediate threat between now and tomorrow morning. I would like to sleep in tomorrow though."

"Th' sighting o' th' flyin' beast, an' th' fact tha' it was collectin' teeth an' claw seems important enough ta me. I would rath'r wake Julius needlessly now (if indeed he be sleepin'), instead o' waitin' 'til mornin' an' discov'rin' tha' we wait'd too long. I think we already wast'd too much time..."

Maal Brengain pauses momentarily as she notices the robed figure ahead. Unintimidated, she approaches the man. "Hail stranger, are ye new in Thresh'ld?"

Maal Brengain stares at the robed man. "Well, I 'ave no home now... We," she gestures to her two companions, "are th' Protectorate o' this town. Who might ye be?"

The wildlander continues to stare at Severen as she replies, "I am call'd Maal Brengain. 'As Julius been expectin' ye? Yer name sounds familiar ta me..."

Maal Brengain glares at Severen.

"A 'beautif'l name'?" she throws back her head and snorts with a sudden uncharacteristic burst of laughter. "Tha's a laugh!"

Maal Brengain's serious demeanor returns just as quickly as it disappeared, "Indeed, Severen. Are ye a priest? If so, which deity d' ye follow?"

Maal Brengain glares at Severen in defiance with her chin held high and proud, "Nay, ye presence does no' set me ill-at-ease. Ye ar' free ta honor any god ye like. I am a follow'r o' Kossuth, meself. I care no' who ye choose."

"Yet, why d' ye come here ta Thresh'ld?" she asks. "It don't sound as though ye expect ta find many follow'rs 'ere."

"Indeed, I 'ave ne'er seen anythin' quite like it b'fore," replies Maal Brengain as she gazes up at the tower of flame stretching toward the sky. "It's an impressive display o' th' pow'r o' Kossuth. I'd like ta talk to ye more aboot Takhisis too, but I should be gettin' along ta Julius' house... As Dale said, we 'ave some import'nt buisness ta report on."

Maal Brengain turns away from Severen and follows after Dale.

Maal Brengain follows Dale as they make their way over the Wolfsong and turn towards Julius Hawkhaven's house. She glances back only to make sure that Laren has kept up with her...

"Get a 'old o' yeself, man! Keep yer wits aboot ye!"

Maal Brengain pauses and turns to face Dale, "Let's no' judge tha' fella by wha' 'e represents... let us judge 'im by 'is actions."

The wildlander's eyes narrow and her face hardens, "We can keep a close eye on 'im, an' if'n 'e gets out o' line then we'll show 'im how ta be'ave." Her scarred upper lip curls upward into an ugly sneer, "Sound good?"

After a pause, "All right, Hawkhaven's house is just up this road..."

Maal Brengain steps past Dale and leads the way down the last stretch of road to Julius' door.

"Aye, Julius. We 'ave come ta give ye a follow up report... We felt it was too important ta wait 'til mornin'. We 'ave jus' recently returned from th' cave... It seems tha' some... thing has been removin' the teeth and claws from the wolf-rats an' humans. I 'ave no idea why or what tha' means, though."

"Furthermore, Jarmok found booted man-like tracks leading into an' outta th' cave. We then tried ta catch th' culprit an' followed 'im through th' woods to a cliff where the tracks disappeared. It was there tha' we saw... it. We all saw it... This canna be good!"

"Aye! 'Twas a winged snake-like beast as Dale says. I 'ave ne'er heard o' one or seen anythin' like tha' b'fore. As I said, it seems ta be able ta change shape... from man ta winged beast. Tha' was how it escaped us. I canna think o' anythin' else aboot it ta tell ye."

This was when Ragnar went charging off into the woods with Jarmok following.  Maal, Dale and Laren then walked backed to town together and ended up at the Stump.[/color:dc05203d1c]]

"Hrmph!" Maal Brengain grunts indignantly. "I wish we 'ad been closer to th' beast so I coulda pegged it with me spear," she replies with a sneer.

Maal Brengain grunts in response, "Tha' is a good idea. I'll speak with Jarmok aboot it... I think 'e would be perfect fer a night-time patrol."

Then, after a pause she continues, "Er, Julius, I believe Jarmok 'ad asked ye aboot th' Protectorate using th' keep up there as a 'eadquarters now tha' it's empty [[color=green:253902021a]Jarmok visits Julius[/color]]... 'Ave ye giv'n any more thought ta tha'? It looks like it would be a good place ta keep watch o'er th' town. [[color=green:253902021a]I'm assuming that there is a tower up there.... please correct me if I'm wrong[/color:253902021a]]. Dale 'as been sleepin' in th' common room at th' Thornhedge near some snorrin' dwarf, an' it might 'elp ev'r'one if we could move outta there an' free up our rooms fer otha guests.  Whaddya think?"
