Xavier smiled sweetly at Jena. He then dropped his gaze to study her breasts. He moved his head slowly to the left and to the right so he could admire them from different angles. Xavier sighed deeply and returned his gaze to Jena's eyes. "Nice tits!," he congratulated her, still smiling just as sweetly.

(OOG: Xavier is going to need to know what she's wearing before he can make an "appropriate" retort. Also, it's been over two years since I've been active on these boards. Can I get a quick review of who Jena is ... if I know her?)

Xavier stared coldly back at him, burning the soldiers face into his memory. "I hope to see you out on the field," he thought to himself. Accidents were pretty common during these war games. Xavier just might be the cause of a few before the event is over.

Xavier caught a glimpse of the rising sun. "Hmm," he thought to himself. "Still about a hand remaining before roll". These last two hours seemed like years to him. He had been waiting for this moment for a long time. Today he would be chosen. Today he would finally march out onto the field of battle. Today he would have a chance to beat the hell out of some people he hardly knew or cared about. Today ... would be a good day.

Charon stirred in his sleep. A slight whimper escaped his lips. Fear? Pleasure? It would be unclear even if anyone was awake to hear it. He curled into a slight fetal position, clutching Collinsworth to his chest like a teddy bear. A slight smile crossed his lips.

(OOC - Forgot that Jared lived in another building. Witness the birth of "Other Jared"!. O.J.?)

Xavier took his time getting ready. He could be battle ready in moments. There was no rush. First, a cold shower. Next, a big breakfast. With luck it would be a long day on the battlefield and he'd need the energy if he wanted to impress his superiors.

Back in his room, Xavier lay out his battle gear on the bed. Everything was perfectly clean. Everything was in its proper place. Xavier cared about few things in his life, his battle gear was one of those things. He closed his eyes and imagined the process of "gearing up". He went over it again and again in his mind. Suddenly he leapt into action. His motions were quick yet precise and in a moment he was fastening the last buckle on his weapon belt. Xavier opened his eyes and checked his work. Perfect.

He headed down to roll call, convinced that today he would be chosen.

A thin layer of sweat was all that separated Xavier's bare flesh from Renee's. He had heard rumors about her "skills" and it seems that the rumors were all true! It had started with an argument about how Xavier didn't think that she was fit to lead Whisper and it quickly progressed to a passionate embrace. Xavier never though this would happen. He hated Renee and he was pretty sure she hated him, too. That mutual hatred seemed to fuel their passion. "Take me NOW!" screamed Renee. That was the first order Renee ever gave that Xavier agreed with. He rolled on top of her and ... was awakened by the sound of the approaching battle wagons.

"Huh?" Xavier looked around his room, slowly waking from the dream.

"Hey, are you up?" asked Jared from across the room.

"Um, yeah. I guess you could say that." replied Xavier, quickly repositioning his pillow.

"That's the battle wagons!" exclaimed Jared, his excitement evident. "Do you think they'll pick us?"

"I sure hope so," replied Xavier. "Cause today I really need to break some faces."

"No, no, I'm alright," said Charon as he gathered Collinsworth into his satchel. "I'm just going to sit back over here and try to stay out of everyones way."

Charon moved to the wall of the tent and sat cross-legged on the ground. He closed his eyes and reached one hand into his satchel so he could rub Collinsworth's head.

(OOC: Charon is actually startlingly cold to the touch, very much like a corpse.)

Charon's eye's fluttered open. "E-E-Eswarth? Are we out of the Satyr village yet?" Charon looked around, immediately realizing where he was. "Oh," he exclaimed simply. "I guess I, I must have fainted." He wiped the water off of his face, glanced curiously at his wet hands, sniffed them, and with a relieved expression dried them on his pants. "Well, if they are not going to kill Fir'ath then I should like to get going immediately. Unless there is some other matter keeping us here?"

"You're doing it," exclaimed Xavier. "You're owning your anger. You're taking hold of it and using it instead of hiding it." Xavier paused a tick so Jared could think about what he just said. "Feels good doesn't it? People always tell you nothing good comes from anger. That's 'cause they don't use it. They just bury it or they let it get away from them. They don't temper it with forethought. It's kinda like those chemicals you work with. If you're not careful you could blow yourself and your friend here up. But you are careful, so you can harness that energy into a tool that can destroy your enemies. It's the same with anger."

Xavier walked beside his friend for a while in silence. It seemed Jared was absorbing everything Xavier said. That was good. Xavier couldn't stand his friends mousy demeanor any longer. If things went as planned Jared would be returning to the orphanage a completely different person. He would return as a strong willed, brave, outspoken young warrior ... like Xavier.

The two friends continued walking towards the south side of town, one thinking of what to say to his estranged father ... the other planning where to dump the body.

Charon suddenly felt very hot and light headed. He started to pull his satchel off of his shoulder and noticed that the tent was beginning to spin. "What an odd thing for a tent to do," said Charon as the ground rose up to meet him.

Eswarth looked behind himself to see Charon crumpled in a pile on the floor of the tent. Somehow his satchel had come to rest on top of his head. Collinsworth had tumbled out and landed beside him. For a moment it looked as if Charon's head had had fallen off his body.

Xavier stopped and glared at Jared. He waited an uncomfortable amount of time before Jared looked him directly in the eye. "You have to do this," said Xavier. "He is your greatest fear. You just told me you'd rather hunt Karh"Thul than stand up to him. You need to face him. You need to show him that he can't get away with what he's done to you, your mom, and all those others."

Xavier reached out and put a hand on each of his friend's shoulders. "If you can't face your own father you don't stand a chance against a Karh'Thul. I'd rather turn around and walk back to the orphanage than take you out on a hunt if you're not ready for it. We'd both end up dead."

Jared looked down at his feet.

"What do you say, Jared? Do we do this or do we walk home?"
