Title: loose ends
Post by: Wildfire on May 16, 2005, 01:46:38 PM
it seems to me that based on session 2 and 3, the Threshold Protectorate may want to tie up some things and explore a bit. for session 4 would you guys like to do that? i can very well integrate it into the adventure but i would like to know that i should integrate it. What say you all?

This pre-planning effort will also relax the amount of time that would be spent planning during a game session. This will be helpful since each adventure in a session for Threshold is designed to last for the 4-5 hours that we are able to play.

Let's use the Dinner at the Stump thread to collaborate on what are plan of action should be. As we have a a few weeks of Real-Life between now and the next session, we have the time to Role-Play out our planning. And I am interested in how the characters will organize this effort, in contrast, to how we as players would.

I do agree with the sentiments above however, and think that this is an excellent thread to get clear are thoughts as players.

Through inevitable inquiry you would have discovered the names of the people are:

Sasha O'Connor - woman in the cave/mine (sister to Marlan O'Connor)
Dakota O'Connor - girl that Maal found at the Overspan (daughter of Marlan and Mirva O'Connor)
William DeVrie - boy in the cave/mine (son of Furgan and Nadia DeVrie)

Dead people:
Furgan DeVrie - Man (husband to Nadia)
Nadia DeVrie- Woman (wife of Furgan)
Dorin DeVrie - boy (son of Furgan and Nadia)
Marlan O'Connor - Man (husband to Mirva, father to Dakota and Ariel)
Mirva O'Connor - Woman (wife to Marlan, mother to Dakota and Ariel)
Ariel O'Connor - girl (twin sister of Dakota O'Connor)

Once again, with Clarity, Himo: Who's the Overlord, and where did a second and / or third in command appear? Have you been playing without us again?!?

I believe that he is talking about Julius? The "Over-lord" meaning the fellow for whom we work?

Okay, I'm not sure what "overlord" you're referring to, my friend, but if you mean, the Rat-man, then I agree with you!

yes we as a group identifed the mother and the boy as brother and mother of the girl. Also I would like to explore the catacombs and the mine we found. Mabey, if possible, explore the sancturaies for the overlord so we get him out of the way before we go and kill seconded and third in comand. Just some thoughts. Rob the magnificent

I havent' reviewed the log yet, but I'll agree with the POA (plan of action).

As a note: of the two people that we dug out of the mine, were either of them related to the little girl? Do we know?

Yar!  I finally have Episode 3 posted for youz.  Sorry that it took so long!

Anyway, I vote that we check out the door in the catacombs beneath the Circle of All next session.  I'm guessing that's where Rawling, the Rat-man, is hiding out and I think we really do need to deal with him ASAP.

We can then concentrate on exploring the abandoned mines (and possibly retrieving the villager's bodies).

yeah based on that talk with Maal and Jarmok i sorta figured that you wanted to pursue that avenue. the chance is still there since it's only been 2-3 days between session 2 and 3.

with the Trog cave you had to beat it due to some nasty injuries and never had the opportunity to really poke around.

These follow-ups need to be done in game. It may also lend itself to some larger role-playing opportunities

I would like to review session 3 log before I make an "official" answer.

That being said, it does seem that we have to ensure Threshold's safety by tieing some loose ends.

Where is the Rat-Man?

Where did the Trogs come from? Are there more?

How deep does the rabbit hole go?

Jarmok is feeling like Rowling (I think that's the name) is still on the loose and may yet be nearby; in an exchange that he and Maal had, they had agreed to go forth and try to find him.

This would have to happen relatively quickly to have any chance of finding him.

Jarmok would want to investigate the old temple where the big rats were and look for his prints, so as perhaps to identify them if they locate him. Also, they should see if there's any additional loot down there to return to the townsfolk.

One thing that I never saw was a divvying up of the loot from session 2. We had noted that those items that belonged to people should be returned, but was there anything left? Did that "rightfully" belong to the kids? Jarmok is certainly not in need to valuables, so he wouldn't push this, but it is a loose end.
