After seeing what he thought was Jarmok turning into a wolf, Laren left the mine in a bit of a hurry, muttering all the way.

"...didn't sign up for this... exploding rats... furry guy... wolves..." Laren realized he was walking too fast to look casual, and slowed his pace. He looked around to see if anyone was watching. A couple people saw him, but looked away and appeared to think nothing of it.

As he continued to walk he muttered some more. "Knew I should have taken that position as a scout on that stupid ship. At this point I don't care where the island is. the further the better. Could have been a different world for all I care... shouldn't just stayed in bed... Gotta be something better to do around here... I gotta get out of this town.... Before I start to turn into some sort of animal. With my size I'd probably end up as some sort of game foul! Better yet, maybe I'll EXPLODE TOO!! Now I gotta deal with all that crap AND this STUPID EY..." He realized that he was yelling.

He looked up from the ground and realized that he had drawn a few glares. He spoke to the nearest face "uh, heh... eye uh, twich that is... Got a bit of a twitch."

Is that the best you could do?!? Laren scolded himself. A twitch!? you better hope your life never depends on that person, they'll think you better dead! Pull it together!

Finally Laren got to the stump. He shuffled over to the bar and climbed up onto a stool. A bubbling mug of amber caught his eye. It was sitting on the bar in front of the stool next to him, which happened to be empty. That fellow must be indesposed at the moment, Laren thought, reaching for the mug. The mug was back down on the bar in no time, with nothing in it but the smell of beer.

Laren looked around for Garret.

Matt, this is a good place to end this thread but if you want to keep it going we can do that too.

Garret falls down laughing, "Don't worry Laren...if I missed it wouldn't have hurt me a bit!"

Laren dropped the stool and recoiled, "Hey man! What are you thinking!? What if I dropped the stool!? There'd be fly guts all over the insides of my head!!"

Laren was visibly shaken.

As Laren was flipping a stool up to the table he hears a *whoosh* and feels the stool shake. He looks to the seat of the stool and sees a shuriken looking object sticking into it hook first.

Garret snickers and says, "That fly had been buggin' me all night. Now he won't be buggin' me no more...HEH!"

Looking closer, Laren sees that there was indeed a fly stuck to the stool by the hook of the large shuriken.

Laren nodded... He past the time there eating, drinking, drumming, and chatting. Slowly the patronage dwindled. Laren helped with the task of putting stools upside down on the bar and sweeping up a bit.

"Oh you've got your Dad's blo..." Garret stopped what he was saying and looked at the other patrons in the tavern. He lowers his voice and says quieter, "You've got your dad's bloodhook. I can teach you how to use it. Meet me and Eldan here after we close. We'll show you all about it..."

Garret flashed his bloodhook to Laren. On one of his fingers was the special razor ring of the Order of the Hawk.

And so now with Session 5 done enough to continue... I shall continue...

"At anyrate, " Laren continued with a clack of the spoons. "I need to learn how to use this 'hook' thingy... Any idea who can teach me?"

"That is sort of my point. I'm not just going to hand it to someone that I don't know because they said my father would. I don't feel that we have the luxury to be able to trust in that."

Laren drums on the bar top with a couple of spoons.

"Well, I'm not sure what I'd do in your situation. I suppose what ever I felt was right. Bottom line, It's your responsibility...like it or not."

"I'm not sure I want to pass it off. I'd rather see it go somewhere safe with my own eyes. When my father died, he told me to see it safe, and that's what I will do if I can."

Filling the mug...again, Garret responds, "I don't rightly know the answer to that. What I can tell you for certain is that I've been told that someone trustworthy will come to collect it before long. Beyond that I don't know any more than you do."
