"well, it sounds a bit painful but i'm sure it could be done. that's something that you'll have to talk to Stormhunter about. if you come with me you can talk with him. I'm fairly certain that he'd do it for you too...brand you that is..." Sully starts to walk through the building forge area to the other side where you last saw the hulking half orc.

"Okay, Maal Brengain...yes, gold. That is the cost. 1 gold crown or 1 gold stag or 1 gold torch. Are these the spears you want to get? Good choice...of course any purchase here is a good choice" he chuckles at his own salesmanship. Furrowing his eyebrows he asks, "What else would you like to get mi..I mean, Maal Brengain?"

As she looks them over she adds, "However, I do 'ave another somewhat odd request..."  She verbally pauses as she continues to look through the collection...

OOC: This is a wonderful role-playing opportunity don't you think? Remember, Wildlanders barter with each other....3 chickens for a pig....that sort of thing.

Quote from: green:ac99b1de37OOC: Er... does Maal know what he means?  Fraz isn't sure what he means or if Maal knows or not...

One Crown is a single gold coin, I assume, yes?  And does he mean that instead of a coin one could pay with a hunted stag?  And what is meant by a "Torch"?  Surely you can't trade one torch for a spear, can you?

"That spear there Miss will cost one Crown, Stag, or Torch. Will be purchasing just this one or would you like to look at something else? we some swords if you like. we also carry everyday items. After all this is a blacksmithy too."

Sully watches her go over to the weapons rack and look over the display. Maal sees several spears that all seem to be of fine quality and styles. Some are ordinary spears that would function as required. Others are more ornate having gilded inlays. still others have different spear heads. some have heads that are shaped like a fire flame, antlers (except these are metal), double point, triple point, leaf shaped, claw shaped, fang shaped, serated, barbed, and heads at both ends.

Sully looks at her with one eyebrow raised then looks down at the antler tipped spear. "We're always willing to custom forge any weapon. Depending on the intricacies it could cost some. There is a fine stock of spears here. They're one of the more popular items here. After all it doesn't take a genius to use...it..." Sully looks at her quickly and then looks away with with the sides of his mouth crawling back in obvious 'oops' fashion. "Sorry Miss Brengain. That wasn't meant to come off to mean that your dumb. It just sort of came out wrong...my apologies." with a deep breath he continues, "Were you looking for anything in particular?"

Sulnuithia and Agar look over at Maal and Agar looks at Sully and says, "This must be the Wildlander that people keep whisperin' about." Agar turns his head back towards her and greets, "Well then lass I'd say that you came to right place. My name is Agar of Clan Thunderfist and this is..." he points at Sully and and he answers with a sort of dazed look on his face, "...ah, Sulnuithia. but most people call me Sully. What is you wanted? oh, right, spears. They're over here." he looks at Agar and bids to meet him later at noonfeast. He walks towards Maal and asks, "So, what kind of spears are you looking for? We have short, regular and long. some are better than others but our worst is a good as most smiths best." He escorts you through the common yard and you see on the other side of Ore & War a half orc of massive proportions...even for a half orc. He has long white hair and a grey tint to his skin. He wanders around watching green smiths work the metal. At one point he stops and is talking to a girl working and learning the forge. gently he stands behind her and hunchs over and he grabs the metal grip and hammer with the girl. his hands completely envelope hers and he starts tapping at the metal with her. You and Sully get to the Weapons diplay racks and he says, "So, Wildlander, here are some of the spears that we have. Were you looking for anything in particular? Miss...i'm sorry, i never asked you your name..."

As a young girl is passing by carrying bits of armor you stop and ask her about spears. She turns and and looks up, "Well, Stormhunter is on the other side of his shop workin' and overseein' you can talk to him. His second in charge is that black haired elf not 20 paces ahead talkin' to Agar. His name is Sulnuithia. Most around here just call him Sully." she points in the direction of the dwarf and the elf. You see the Dwarf has a ring of long brown and grey hair from ear to ear that turns into two large porkchop sideburns that extend to the ball of his chin. He wears workmans clothes and a leather apron. The elf also wears workmans clothes-no apron. He has long copper colored hair and a scar on his cheek. The two seem to be talking and laughing as they stand near the well drinking water.

OOC: you're about to find out

As you come around the back corner of the front building you see that there are two open walled buildings with outdoor and indoor forges. The yard between the two buildings is filled with open forges and fires. You look about at smiths making items from armor to weapons to everyday spoons to bits and bridles. There are young appretices and old masters. All of whom are passionately hammering out and learning their art. In the shade of the bulidings you see very young apprentices piecing together chainmail. Others are fitting armor with straps and buckles. Still others are polishing armor that has been finished. The activity ensueing here is dizzying to say the least and amidst the clattering of metal your shout for Darius Stormhunter goes seemingly unheard.

The multi-rythmic clanging of metal echoes out as you cross the Wolfsong leading you directly to the forge. You see that smoke billows up from two large buildings into sky as a universal flag of a smithy. As you cross the bridge you see ahead a building with a sign hanging out over the front door with a shield inside an eight pointed star. Sandwiching the symbol are some shapes that you know are words. You see a sign with a crossed sword and mace with and arrow pointing to the right attached to the building with the hanging sign. The continuous ringing of metal against metal fills your ears. To your right you see the Fogveil forever moving to the north and a small dock further downstream leading up to a building with several chimney's. The activity about the town is positively dizzying. Well-to-do's and commoners are shuffling back and forth across the bridge. You hear the static of voices mix with the clanging of metal. In the distance you can hear the town merchants crying out the deals that they have in store. People of all sorts fill the town just as you were told would happen but in a way that you may not have expected. Threshold, like Sythus flowers, has finally blossomed.

Quote from: green:1d056c872bOOC: I was going to ask you that, WF...  I'm sort of assuming that Maal knows the way, since she's been patrolling through the town for over a week now... and as Keltan says, you only have to listen for the "banging metal".  :-)

Always willing to be of assistance Keltan asks, "you do know how to get there, yes? Ore and War is just over the Wolfsong...just listen for the banging metal."

"Oh, Maal, how have you been? Stormhunter makes some of the finest weapons anyone could set their eyes on. See, what makes them so special besides their sturdy quality is the detail that he puts into them. What with all of the travelers coming 'round this time of year his forge is operating from dawn until dusk."
