Like I said earlier I'm lost on the calendar dates.   I'd like to have Dale write a scroll or two, but I'm not going to do it if it was on the day we were attacked, because he wouldn't have had spells ready for that battle.  I'm not opposed to having him do it on a seperate thread though.  Let me know what you would like me to do.

Duthash Zinnyas Fehy [May 8th]: Morning

"HUUUUUUGGHHHHH"  a few ragged gasps at air.

"HUUUGH   UUGGGHHHHHHHHH    UGHHH   UGHHHHHHHHH!!"

Although vomiting on the smelly dwarf felt rather vindicating, the dry heaves that followed were not so glorious.

"Oh Paladine, have mercy on my soul.   Taakhisis take me now.   Where's Severen when I need to be stabbed in the back....   HUUGGGHHHHH!"

Dale's only thought was that he'd rathr die than suffer through this hell any longer.   What was in that drink anyway?   It was only one small glass!!

The last of this wave of heaves seemed to be over.   Dale leaned his head on the privy in relief, not caring that his face was in his own vomit and who knows what else from so many others..."I hope that was the end of it.!"   He wearily fell asleep

The woman replies in her raspy voice by saying, "You have nothing to fear from us.  We are a simple people.   We have nothing to offer that would ease your mind, but we can aid you on your quest.   We will tend to your wounds and guide you on your journey through the darkness to the light.   Trust us or not.  It is up to you."

Quenton concentrates for a moment while he half heartedly listens to Larkin.   "I think we should take them at their word.   Besides," he whispers, "their so small we can easily whip them if they start any trouble."

Eilzabeth responds by saying, "We seem to be surounded.  Do we have any choice?"

Quinton searches the spirits of the little people that are all around him.  Without much effort he notices a distinct lack of the foreboding, blood chilling feelings that nearly overcome him whenever he detects evil intent upon those around him.

He also notices that Flea is nowhere to be found.   But then again, that does not surprise him.

After waiting for a few moments for the outlanders to decide if they would accept her offer, Elsyra looks at Quinton and says, "What say you, son of Brendan?  Will you accept our offer of help?"

"Very well.  I know that it is not easy for you to trust us under these circumstances.  However, I will assure you again.  We mean no harm."

She steps off of the platform holding the altar and strides slowly towards Quinton with a scaly outstretched hand offered to him to shake.  "I am Elsyra.   These are my kin.   We are known amongst ourselves as the people.  Outlanders have many names for us, but most refer to us as The Lost.   We are the descendants of those who survived The Sundering in this forsaken city."

"Our ancestors were humans and elves.  We are something else entirely."

"It has been foretold that you would come and save us from our plight.   We wish to help you on your quest however we can."

She stops before Quinton and waits for him to grasp her hand in a friendly exchange.

"During The Sundering, our ancestors were physically scarred by Flaern's wrath.   They barely survived, but survive they did.   Ashamed by their appearance, they refused to leave the city.   Many of them fled to the caverns underground to escape the horrors that manifested themsleves in the city.

As the years went by they settled into the caverns, formed a new society and had children.   Maimed children.   Children who looked more like serpents than humans or elves.

Our people began to become accustomed to the dark.   Our eyes grew larger and our bodies got smaller, adapting to the naarow spaces underground.   Some of our people can even see without seeing.   You would call them blind but they are not.   In fact they are aware of your little brethren hiding in the corner."  She stops speaking and points to Flea, who has an astonished, then frustrated look on his face.

Flea can hardly believe he was discovered.  He steps out of the shadows with a sheepish look on his face.   He slowly puts his daggers back into his boot and belt respectively and walks to Quinton's side.  "Sorry," he whispers to Quinton.

As if she wasn't interrupted at all, Elsyra continues.  "Some of our mystics have foretold of the day that we would be saved by a descendant of Brendan.   He would be accompanied by the united houses and the voice of Flaern.   Together, they would set us free and return us to our ancestral heritage.

"Clearly, you are Brendan's descendant and he is a servant of Flaern." She points to Lor'hion with a bony, scaled finger, with a long sharpened claw at its tip.

"The others must represent the united houses....Come follow me, we will take you to our home and heal your wounds and fill your stomachs."  She turns and strides back toward the altar and heads down the stairs.

The party is trying to rescue the poisoned Zyrithian Wizards, who are surrounded by the Deltharan Army a few miles away.   There is an underground passage from the temple to the Zyrithian Tower.    Quinton has a small supply of White Trillium and ogre's teeth, which grounded together into a fine powder, can cure the poison that the wizard's are suffering from.

The poison is derived from red trillium and is used by the Deltharites in an effort to control the populcae of N'arth.  Once the poison has been eaten, the Deltharites offer a temporary cure to their victims.  This insures their cooperation or the they will die.

A Deltharite spy managed to poison the food of the Zyrithian Tower.   Most of the wizards have been poisoned and they are dying.   The wizards will be valuable allies to the Army of N'arth, if the can only be rescued.

Ok sorry guys, I will write a brief recap.

Bare basics for this question:  Zyrithian and Shadan wizards fought a war with each other.  They discovered how to use Flaern's power to enahance their spells.   They abused her power to the point of breaking.  N'arth used to be one island.  The Sundering happened at the height of the war.  Flaern's power broke... Volcanic  eruptions and earthquakes shattered the island into pieces.   Many cities were wiped of the map.   Elsyra's ancestors were marred during this destruction.  It is commonly believed that Flaern took her wrath out on the wizards in an attempt to destroy them.

Lor'hion would know all of that except for the part about Elsyra's people.  Know one from the outside world knows about them.

Quinton would know this too.

Well!  If ya don't know what ya don't know?
How do ya know what ya know?
Ya Know?

I'm glad to see this post is off to a great start!

"Lor'hion would know all of that except for the part about Elsyra's people. Know one from the outside world knows about them."

In other words, Lor'hion has never heard of them.

Although he might enjoy smoking potato chips with them.

As the party descends the steps beneath the altar, they struggle with their footing.   The steps are rough hewn and steep, much like those of Quinton's old root cellar back home.

Placing his hands out to the side for balance, Lor'hion notices that the stone is cold and wet.   As he steps off of the stairs, he hears dripping water and smells a very acrid odor.

Quinton looks ahead, but he can barely see past the little person in front of him.  The bright torch that the diminutive man is carrying effectively blinds him from seeing more than five feet ahead of him.

The small man turns to Quinton and says in a very hoarse voice, "Don't worry.   Not far."  The man points ahead with a short stubby finger and strides down the corridor.

As the little man moves quickly away.   Quinton and Lor'hion realize that they must stoop in order to move forward.   These passages were obviously not created for humans.

Larkin, by far the largest man in the group looks dubiously at Lor'hion and Quinton and says, "I guess size really does matter, huh?"

"We burn fungus.   Smell bad.  Get used to it after a while.   Makes good heat."

The little man leads the intrepid adventurer's further down the narrow passageways.   Very quickly, both Quinton and Lur'hion get the feeling that they might not find their way back out without some help.   The small passageways are dark and coninually turning and twisting.

Soon the companions hear the steady sound of moving water.   It grows stronger and stronger until they come around a corner and find themselves standing on the banks of an underground river.   The river is wide and appears to be deep.   It has a slight smell of salt to it.

As Lur'hion's gaze takes in the river and follows the water he notices what appears to be hundreds of dancing multicolored lights hovering above the river in the distance.

The little man points his stubby finger and says, "New Zyrith."  He stares along with the party as if gazing upon his home for the first time as well.
"Come.  Almost there."  He strides along the river bank towards the dazzling lights.

"Zyrithia is the ruins.   New Zyrith is our home.   Its all we have, but its safe.   No ghosts here....

Wizard Trolls come now and again, but we fight them...."

As the party gets closer to new Zyrith they see that it is a large collection of caves carved out of a large cavern.   Each cave has its own glowing light emanating from it.   There are at least one hundred dwellings carved out of the cavern walls.    On the floor of the cavern is a steamy pool of water that is surrounded by many columns that appear to have been pilfered from the ruins above.    On the center of each column is the symbol if Zyrith.   A gigantic flame crossed with a many spiked spear on a large shield.

A road leaves from the pool and heads towards the dwellings.   As it reaches the dwellings, the road turns into a series of stairs that lead ever higher.   At the top level, there is a large structure that looks reminiscent of a castle.   Above the door again is the symbol of Zyrith.  Only this symbol appears to be made of  a real shield and spear with a live writhing flame.

Elsyra approaches the group and says, "We will go to the temple and give thanks to Zyrith.   By his strength we will be saved."

"Not to worry.   All are welcome in Azyrtith's Temple.   Come.  Wade into his pool with us and you will be strengthened."

Elsyra then leads you towards the steaming pool.  She heads to an entreance between two columns.   Before entering, she kneels on the floor of the cavern and offers a prayer in a strange language.   The other little folk do the same and in short order are chanting together in a mysterious tongue that none of the party has ever encountered before.  At the height of their chant, it seems to those who are observant that for a brief moment, the symbols of Azyrith came alive.
